Welcome to the Viewbank Primary School website. We hope you find the information it contains helpful. Should there be anything about the school that you wish to clarify or discuss further, please do not hesitate to phone me, contact me via the school's email address, or come in for a chat.

The staff and parents of Viewbank Primary School have a strong commitment to creating a school environment which values caring for each other, respect and responsibility. We are also focused on enhancing the strong partnership between the home and school. We strive to develop each individual child's potential in all curriculum areas. We also emphasise the development of resilience in children through participation in a myriad of experiences promoting confidence, persistence, organisation, and getting along.

PARENTS AND FRIENDS NEWS
Thursday, 24 July 2014 10:22

As part of our plan to improve Viewbank Primary School we will be running a fantastic Cadbury® Fundraiser Drive in August to raise money to help upgrade our playgrounds.

We are pleased to announce that for this drive we have CADBURY® FUNDRAISER VARIETY PACK for sale. Selling for $1 per block ($50 per box), this represents excellent value to the buyer and our profits will go towards purchasing some new playground equipment.

Can you please return the attached form to the school office by 27th July to enable us to order the correct amount of fundraiser chocolate boxes.

COMMONWEALTH GAMES ASSEMBLY
Thursday, 24 July 2014 10:20
The Assembly of July 28 will be a special one for a few reasons. Firstly, the School Captains will be swapping roles with Suzanne and myself for the day in the now traditional ‘Principal For A Day’ Leadership program, taking assembly, drafting a good part of the newsletter, making announcements and generally performing the tasks we might normally do (within reason)! Secondly, to celebrate the Commonwealth Games, each class has adopted a participating country, will complete a range of activities relating to that country during the week and will dress up on Monday, July 28 in their country’s colours and parade for your entertainment in the gymnasium from 9.20am on that day. We anticipate the parade will be complete by 9.50am so if you would like to see everyone in their finery, please mark the day down in your diaries!

COMPASS
Thursday, 24 July 2014 10:19
We hope by now that everyone is becoming familiar with COMPASS and we trust you are finding it a useful system for keeping informed, monitoring student absences, granting permissions for excursions and parent payments. We will post tomorrow a further ‘how to’ file to better enable you to get the most out of COMPASS, and seek patience from everyone as we all get used to this information system! We have also arranged for a Parent Information Session to be conducted by the system developers for next Monday after assembly at 10:00am. This will be held in the staffroom and is expected to run for up to 45 minutes.
