The Commonwealth Government’s recently released Nation Building - Economic Stimulus Plan has committed $14.7 billion over three years to Australian schools through the Building the Education Revolution (BER) program.
BER begins this year and will provide Victorian government schools with a unique and exciting opportunity to construct and provide 21st century school facilities. In addition to this, it will create numerous jobs within local communities.
This record capital funding to schools will ensure all Victorian children are educated in the best school environments – this is about providing families in local communities with great schools for their children and creating construction jobs in local communities during tough economic times.
Viewbank PS has been successful in acquiring $200,000 of funding under the National School Pride program. This money will be used to provide interactive whiteboards for all classrooms (including the Library), improved playground surfacing, and new outdoor learning areas outside the Prep classrooms (to support our Developmental Curriculum program) and in the south-west corner of the school.
