Student Leadership PDF Print E-mail
At Viewbank Primary School, student leadership opportunities are everywhere.  For example, you can become a House Captain or Vice Captain in Grades 5 and 6 and represent your House as a leader at many sporting events.  The Houses in 2009 are Darebin, Plenty, Yarra or Diamond.  All Grade levels are represented by duly elected Junior School Councillors who meet regularly and discuss a range of school issues and ideas for fund raising.  We have school wide Environmental Leaders who dedicate their time and efforts to maintaining the school environment.  We also have School Captains and Vice Captains who assist at Assembly, conduct school tours and help maintain the school.  These Captains and Vice Captains attend a 'Young Leaders' Day' which is held in Melbourne each year.  So - plenty of oppportunities, and we are proud to say we have enjoyed our year as School Captains and Vice Captains!!!!  Luke, Monica, Alex and Milla 2009

State Achievements PDF Print E-mail

A number of our students participated in State Finals on Monday, October 26. We would like to reiterate how proud we are of all of our Chess and Athletics students for making it to the highest level in their respective pursuits!! Hopefully, it is an achievement they will remember forever. Jazmyn Keppel and Joshua Owen came 5th and 6th in Victoria in their 80 metres hurdles events which is a fantastic result. The Chess team performed well, and whilst not winning the State title, were nevertheless a credit to themselves and the school. Of the nine members of the team who represented Viewbank PS on Monday, two are in Grade 5, one in Grade 4 and six in Grade 2. This clearly augurs well for the State Championships in 2013!!!! We placed 23rd out of 56 teams in the State!! Well done to everyone involved!!
