The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Specialist program focuses on developing students’ skills across a wide variety of technologies to support classroom learning. It focuses on how to use these technologies safely in accordance with our Student e-Smart Code of Conduct Agreement. Students learn how to access, process, manage and present information; model and control events; construct new understanding; and communicate with others. Each class attends a ninety-minute session each fortnight, over one semester during the year.
Each week Year 3 – 6 students are able to participate in a ‘Code Club’ during lunchtime on Thursdays and Fridays. We are very fortunate to have a volunteer, Philip Peitsch. Philip was linked to our school through an organisation that connects developers and educators to encourage the development of coding skills in students. Students will develop and further their coding knowledge through different activities and projects using a range of resources.
