School Captains

Our students have many opportunities to develop their leadership skills at Viewbank Primary School. We have a boy and a girl school captain and vice captain, selected from the Grade 6 classes and elected by their peers. These students play pivotal roles in school assemblies, school tours and in a range of other public speaking and mentoring situations. They even get to be 'Principal For A Day' in August each year.

House Captains

Our House system is in place to promote fun competition in athletics, swimming and cross country and as a positive reinforcement for exemplary behaviour across the school. Grade 5 and 6 students are elected as House Captains and Vice-Captains each year with the houses being Darebin, Diamond, Plenty and Yarra.

ENVIRONMENTAL Captains

Environmental Captains take on the responsibility of leading our School's environmental initiatives.

Junior School Council

Junior School Council meets on a regular basis to plan and implement a range of student activities including fund raising for charities and out of uniform days and to discuss issues concerning students. Each of the 28 classes in the school appoint a boy and girl representative on an annual basis.

Peer Mediation

Peer mediators are trained annually to be another 'point-of-contact' in the yard to deal with minor issues or disputes that can be solved in such a fashion.
